Yes, Sin city. Some say it’s tacky, some say it’s artificial, some like the visuals galore of the city but for me Vegas works on so many levels. I have been to Vegas a couple of times, once during Christmas and other time during summer when heat is at its peak. Nonetheless Vegas has never disappointed me. To begin with, there are so many things one can do:

  • Grand Canyon.
  • Hoover Dam
  • The Strip.
  • Casinos and hotels.
  • Food.
  • Night and day clubs.
  • Super cars.
  • Shows.
  • Rides.
  • Strip clubs.
  • Concerts et cetera.

My infatuation with Vegas has been there since I started watching Hollywood movies. I was really mesmerised by the architecture and lights of the city.

Trip 1:

My first trip after moving to the USA was Vegas, during my first Christmas here. A few of my friends were planning the trip and I tagged along with them. Since I was late with my bookings, my friends and I didn’t stay at the same hotel. They stayed at Mirage and I stayed at Hard Rock. As soon as we landed, we were welcomed by the slot machines at the terminal itself. After checking into the hotel, my friends picked me up for a day trip to Hoover dam and the Grand Canyon. Personally, Hoover Dam did not impress me but the ride was picturesque. By the time we reached Grand Canyon it was almost sunset but we were able to enjoy the sunset. Next day we strolled on the strip, from one hotel to another, but the highlight was the forum shops at Caesars Palace. If money is not a problem then that’s the place for you. By the evening we were at Stratosphere to do some of the most dangerous rides in the world. Stratosphere provides 4 rides with a catch that all 4 rides are located at the 110th floor. I was only able to do one … Xscream. One of the ways to see Vegas is by inexpensive limousine tours. For dinner, we went downtown where I indulged myself in zip lining. The next day my friend and I went to the other side of the strip to see more casinos and try our luck at some black jack. To enjoy nightclubs in Vegas, one of the easiest ways is to get a club crawl pass, which allows one to get into 3 clubs without any cover. The perfect ending for my trip was a Swedish massage and 2 hours at the Hard Rock Spa.

Trip 2:

After the hangover from TomorrowWorld, I decided to attend atleast one EDM festivals per year. In 2016 I went for EDC (Electronic Daisy Carnival), which happens to be in Vegas. The only problem was that EDC occurred in the middle of summer when Vegas swing between 100-110 degrees Fahrenheit. The only option was to stay in and it is not a bad option considering Vegas has so many indoor things to do. I was staying at New York-New York, which is on the east side of the strip and has its own roller coaster in the Hotel. After attending Day 1 of EDC and sleeping around 5 AM, we had our brunch at the Hard Rock Cafe across from the hotel. Next we took a stroll from Cosmopolitan to Caesars Palace hitting most of the exclusive bars on the way. My friend wanted to go to Stratosphere to do all the rides. After that, we went to Gordon Ramsey’s Burger restaurant before going to EDC. Day 3 was really exciting as we booked ourselves to a pool party at the Marquee Dayclub. The crowd was radical and drinks were shit expensive. We decided to attend an exotic comedy show that happened to be in our Hotel. There was nothing vulgar about it and it supposed to be the best in Vegas. We kept Day 4 on the lighter note, just a little gambling at Bellagio before saying goodbye to Vegas once again.

I’d go back to Vegas anytime, I just love that artificial tacky vibe of the city and hey there is still one thing pending, driving a super car in Vegas.
